SAMPLE SCHEDULE & PACKING LIST FOR BCI'S WEEK-LONG PROGRAM
BCI's week-long program is open to veterans and their family members, and takes place at White Stallion Ranch and Dream Horse Ranch, in Tucson Arizona. Veteran participants will have the opportunity to work with mustangs (horses that have limited human contact) at Dream Horse, under the instruction of Jeff Cook, an award winning mustang trainer, and EAGALA certified equine therapist Tamara Clause. The mustang portion of our program is centered around ground-work, which involves limited physical contact and emphasizes non-verbal communication - a central component of the educational and therapeutic experience. True to our mission, in order to ensure family members are fully included in the program, while veteran participants are working with Jeff and Tamara, our family participants will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the horsemanship experience, at White Stallion Ranch, working alongside BCI's head wrangler Carol Bachmann. Finally, all participants (veterans and their family members) will have the opportunity to participate in BCI tailored horsemanship clinics and lessons, and enjoy all of the additional services and activities the ranch offers its guests.

SAMPLE PACKING LIST

While much of the time during our clinic is spent with horses, the White Stallion Ranch offers a variety of activities such as e-biking, hiking and rock climbing, and after a long day in the sun, we definitely recommend having clothes on hand that feel clean and comfortable to wear during dinner. It may sound like a lot, but we think you will be happy knowing you have multiple outfits on hand for the different events..
Also keep in mind temperature changes! It will be hot during the day, but some mornings and evenings will cool down substantially.
Below we have listed out some sample items that we think should bring.
For All Day Every Day
-Sunscreen, Chapstick & A Hat!
For Riding & Working With Horses
-Boots With a Low Heel
-Jeans (ones you are okay getting dirty/sandy/sweaty)
-Long Sleeve Shirts for Layering
For Hanging Out & Other Non-Riding Activities
-Sneakers
-Athletic Wear (shorts/t-shirts)
-Bathing Suit
-Sandals
For Dinners & Evenings
-Light Sweaters or Jackets
-Pants/Skirts (anything you want to wear that you didn’t get dirty/sweaty/sandy during the day).
-Boots/Sandals/Sneakers (anything goes really, but as we said, you probably will want a pair that you did not ride in).
